I spent this spring of confinement walking around every day to observe the trees in my valley. I strolled in the forest, along the river and in the village in search of all the native and introduced species. Parallel to my research of several years of medicinal plants from which I drew hundreds of flowers, I made a herbarium with the leaves of almost a hundred large and small trees and shrubs. I learned a lot about the tree "people" Beyond botany, I did research on their medicinal properties and on their mythology and legends. I knew I would soon let myself be inspired by their beauty to create a series.

I am still experimenting with this theme of leaves. The leaves I had dried have all been used up. Now that winter has come with less and less tree leaves, I have decided to use the few flower leaves remaining in our garden before they die.
